The CustomVue iLASIK procedure at Larson Eye Care is uniquely customized to your personal vision needs and performed without the use of blades using the most technologically advanced system available today. Dr. Christopher Larson was the first in Sheboygan to use the diagnostic WavePrint system to map hundreds of precise measurements to better qualify the right candidates for CustomVue iLASIK.

WaveScan® technology was originally developed for use in high-powered telescopes to reduce distortions when viewing distant objects in space. This ad¬vanced technology is now used to measure a person’s vision to a level of precision not previously possible. The WaveScan system is 25 times more precise for measuring visual imperfections than the technology commonly used today to prescribe eyeglasses or contact lenses.

The IntraLase FS laser is a computer facilitated alternative to traditional LASIK. In traditional LASIK, the flap is created with a blade. While an effective method, studies demonstrate that using the advanced IntraLase, laser to create the flap significantly reduces the risk of complication. This laser has a broader range of treatment. Patients who were not good candidates for traditional LASIK may now be candidates for CustomVue iLASIK.

“The WaveScan system measures the eye and produces a detailed map. Then, the digital information is transferred directly to the VISX STAR S4™ Excimer Laser System for correction,” explains Dr. Larson. “This technology provides a high level of precision and accuracy for optimizing each patient’s vision based on their specific needs.”
